The Players Guild of Leonia is proud to introduce its new Artists Incubator Program, an initiative created to provide artists with an opportunity to develop, explore and present new works in a supportive theatrical environment.

Kicking off the series will be A Dozen Roses, an original musical with book by Marc Leland and music and lyrics by Joshua Z. Kant, presented for one night. A Dozen Roses follows twelve women, each at a different place in life and in her career, who gather in a New York rehearsal studio to audition for the same coveted role. What begins as a room filled with competition, nerves and professional rivalry gradually transforms when an unexpected delay forces the women to talk, listen and reveal the sacrifices, disappointments, fears and dreams that brought each of them there.

Through humor, music and moments of raw honesty, they discover they have far more in common than they ever imagined and that sometimes the things they didn’t get, the choices they made, and simply having the courage to keep showing up are all part of what made them stronger. The presentation marks the first production in the Players Guild of Leonia’s Artists Incubator Program and offers audiences the opportunity to experience a new musical as it continues its creative development.
