Stephanie Cummins received her Bachelor of Music degree from North Carolina School of the Arts, and went on to get her masters from the prestigious Juilliard School.
She is a former member of the New Jersey Symphony, an orchestra with which she performed for 13 years. She has performed and toured with Mostly Mozart, American Symphony, and American Ballet Theatre. In the pop field, she has toured with Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, Rolling Stones’ drummer Charlie Watts and Diana Ross.
One of her greatest achievements was to be hand-picked by the legendary choreographer/director, Jerome Robbins. She was asked to perform one of his works “Suite of Dances” onstage, alone, accompanied by only a single dancer. She performanced this work with both the San Francisco and the New York City Ballets.
Stephanie is also a former member of the critically acclaimed group, “Cello.” This group consists of four world-class female cellists, who’ve recorded several records, and played concerts all over the world.
Stephanie’s Broadway credits include The King and I, Footloose, Thoroughly Modern Mille, Mary Poppins, SideShow, Rocky, An American in Paris, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to name a few.
Stephanie plays a fine Italian cello made in 1827 by Giacomo Rivolta.
